Well why not? Stuck in the middle of Catford, Brockley, Sydenham and Dulwich, I have lived here most of my life, having attended Rathfern Primary School, Fairlawn Primary School, sent my kids to Perrymount Primary School, where I was a Governor and my wife works and my son went to Forest Hill Boys (Dacres Road) and then Hillside Sixth Form college and my daughter is at Sydenham Girls.
Forest Hill is a nice little Town, with lots of potential and plenty of past, particularly surrounding the Museum, Hornimans - presented to the people by Lord Hornimans.
On the negative side Sainsbury have just extended their monolithic superstore and there is the Old ABC Cinema which is now a Wetherspoons. Positvely, apart from Hornimans, there are the Victorian baths which are continually being threatened with closure or character destroying refurbishment, then then there is the victorian public loos which are closed. Dartmouth Road has lots of good shops and pubs and restaurants, question is a favourite haunt.

Hornimans is my favorite museum.
I hope it is still unchanged.
I remember the bees, the mummy and the various pickled items, the Dodo and of course the mechanical clock from round about 1960 and so far they have always been there when Ive been back.I havnt been back for about 10 years though.
Good luck with the blog.
Did you know the Alpine coffee Bar in Forest Hill by any Chance or Alan Mcfaden or James Woodworth or George fagan?
